Latest makes to share!

Hello my lovelies, 

Am back from my much-needed holiday and it's time to share the latest creations from the Cake Pop Princess kitchen. Lots of cute to share with you this time, including the bride & groom pops I made yesterday, and the gorgeous little tutu cake pops I made for a Les Enfants Tutu & Tees Party just before I left. 

First up, we have the Penfold Pops. If you were a child of the 80s, you probably watched Dangermouse. I know I did! Apparently the client's hubby resembles him, hence the retro request.

These Tiger Pops were made for a client to treat her children with on a long journey to a Haven campsite - Rory is their main character.

And it's end of term time so had lots of teacher gifts this week. I went with the popular choice of apples and rulers, along with lots of flower pops. But I also had something a little different - a client requested running shoes for her son's teacher, as running is one of his favourite pastimes. I even put a little tread on the bottom.

Now, these are a little more obscure and I'm not 100% happy with them. The client requested dangly earrings, and they were so hard to put into practise! I think they're just about acceptable, but would love to improve on them one day.

Well, I've managed to last almost 10 months without making bride and groom cake pops, but the day finally came. I wanted them to be a little unique (which wasn't particularly easy when there are so many variations already out there!) so went for little shaped outfits rather than round balls or complete bodies. You can't see in this picture but the bride's dress has a gorgeous sheen to it. Really rather pleased with them, although I just wish I had time to take a better picture!

And now for the bit you've probably all been waiting for - the tutu pop! I made about 5 different variations of tees for these pops, but the following one was my absolute favourite. I love cupcakes, so any excuse, really! And seriously, how cute did they look on the sweetie table?! Can't wait to make some flower fairy variations with lots of lovely new net I've got on order!

Thanks for taking the time to read this far - fingers crossed I have some pictures to share of the corset pops I made today. It was such a rush to get them to the Post Office that I couldn't take any pictures myself, so will have to rely on the client to work her photographic magic!

More makes to share!

It's been crazy busy with Father's Day last weekend and topping 2000 fans on the Facebook page(WOOHOOOOO!) but I just had to share these new additions with you - all of them were random requests for darling daddies!

First up, little iPhone cake pops -check out the screen, although you'll have to squint! I made six of these, all with different messages:

Then we have the GRUFFALO cake pops! These were a huge hit, although someone was very quick to point out that I'd got their eyes wrong as I'd painted them yellow, so quickly had to repaint them orange!

One of my absolute favourite pops to make last week were these - CAMPER VAN CAKE POPS! They came out just as I'd hoped, although I did make another type with fondant windows that just weren't working for me. Luckily I always make spares, and after doing one of each type I knew that the painted windows were definitely the way forward!

Another very popular request is the Waybuloo characters. Having a toddler myself, I'm more than familiar with them, although I have to say that I prefer my kid's telly to talk properly rather than in made-up language. Surely I can't be the only one? Anyhoo, I digress - here are the PIPLING CAKE POPS!

And finally, can't remember if I'd shared these with you already, so pardon the repetition if I have, but TOTORO AND THE SOOTS CAKE POPS!

This one was so cute, just had to share by itself!

Behold the prototype tutu pop - perfect for ballet themes! 

This tutu was actually made using some of the offcuts from the underskirt of my sister-in-law's wedding dress, and I just think it's rather adorable! It's not completely perfect, but I think it definitely shows potential.

So many lovely things to share with you!

I've got some fantastic new makes to show you all, and I'll start at the beginning, with the Angry Birds cake pops that I received a squillion Father's Day requests for. Trust me, having a hundred or so of these staring at you is really rather un-nerving, it was like their eyes were boring into my soul *shudder*.

Next up in my sort-of-A-to-Z of cake pops (albeit missing many letters) is something I'm superproud of. No really, these just came out so brilliantly, just as I envisioned in my head - which, if we're being honest, doesn't always happen. They even survived shipping to Germany, which made me very happy. I present my.... drum roll please... DOG POPS! These were ordered to celebrate this gorgeous little puppies birthday - how seriously adorable is Nahla?! The perfectionist in me knows that her ears should have been a bit longer, but I know that floppy ears would have most likely been damaged on the journey.

Jungle themes seem to be rather popular, and after making too much grey fondant the other day, I had a bit of an elephant experiment. They came out so well, just so adorably cute, that I had to find a use for them and jungle numbers were born. The order also included some monkey heads, and I thought some dinky little tiger faces wouldn't go amiss. They looked a bit lonely without some foliage, so I quickly rustled some up for them so they wouldn't get homesick!

Another one I get requests for quite regularly is Miss Minnie Mouse. I found her really quite fiddly, and had to make 20 pops to ship to Brazil (!). Still waiting to hear if they made it in one piece - they took so long that I'd be most devastated if they didn't!

Next up are my Pamper Pops - I was absolutely inspired by the Cake Poppery's version, and knew I had to attempt my own design. I opted for a textured towel (was envisioning fluffy spa towels in my head!) rather than the neat fondant that they went for. My cucumber slices are also more green - more English, dare I say!

A few more Ps to go through - there's also Pooh Pops (very similar to the Bakerella version, mostly because the client specifically requested that they had the same red shirt peeking):

Then some Puffles (no, I'd never heard of them either!). I got two colours in before realising that they were only meant to be fluffy up top, so next time the orange and black ones will be more accurate!

And finally, something I'm most proud of - my Toy Story Cake Pops! These were an absolute labour of love, and I adore them all with the exception of Buzz, who I do feel I could improve. My most detailed pops yet, each is pretty much completely made out of cake pop mixture (including the hats), save a few embellishments here and there on Mr Potato Head:

Green fingers, Rapunzel, birthdays & weddings and more - it's all go this week!

Great news! A replacement upload cable has arrived (thank you eBay!) so let the picture sharing festivities begin. Be warned - there are plenty today!

Well, I finally had a chance to put an idea of mine into fruition. After a client requested a watering can I suggested these little cuties to go with them:

My other big new invention was the little birthday cake pop, complete with candles. I've already had three orders for it since putting it up on the Facebook page a few days ago. Sure to be a big hit!

And, being British, how I could I not step up and make some Royal Wedding cake pops?! If you look very closely, you'll see that I hand-painted the little heart cake topper with the Union Jack. Yeah, that was fiddly. Thankfully we don't get many Royal weddings so hopefully won't have to do that again for a while! As long as Harry doesn't start courting the foxy Pippa Middleton, that is...

Hmmm... what else? Well, a client asked for Tangled themed cake pops so I came up with these Rapunzel heads. I was umming and ahing about how to do her hair, and then suddenly it hit me - loop it down the stick! 

And how could I forget my little babes in bonnets? Made for a babyshower last week, I tried to make them all a bit different. Some have crazy hair, others just a curl or a straggly fringe.

And now for some custom orders. First up, a Rudy Project cycle helmet. Sadly there is a bit of glare from the glaze so you can't quite see the detail:

A trowel -yeah, this one wasn't too great and chances are you'd never guess what it was, despite the subtle clue I placed next to it! Think the handle needs to be longer, although I have to say that it was *really* hard to do. I much prefer the watering can and seedlings I did for the other order!
